Maine coon cattery Kingcoons

Like any business, it has its own history...

My love for cats started in childhood. Even though it was just an ordinary fluffy street cat, it was still from the feline family. He played, cuddled, purred, slept at my feet, and brought me joy and amusement. He lived for 19 years, always dignified and calm, enduring three moves and the creation of my own family with grace. When he passed away, we were given a grown kitten—a Maine Coon cat named Bavaria from a professional cattery. She had a predatory look, a long body, and lynx-like tufts. The appearance of a Maine Coon cat is more intimidating than endearing, and like all adolescents, she seemed unnaturally long. But her wonderful character charmed us so much that we discovered the amazing breed of giant house cats, the Maine Coon. Within a few days, every family member was arguing over who she would sleep with, and as a reward for good behavior, the children were allowed to play with her.

We lived carefree and happily until our beloved Maine Coon cat grew up, matured, and asked for a mate. We very carefully selected a father for our future kittens. We chose the most expensive (in terms of mating fee) and experienced cat. Not realizing how much trouble awaited us, we joyfully took our bride to the groom.

I want to skip over all the emotions, worries, and tears of sadness and joy associated with the arrival of the first Maine Coon kittens, their upbringing, and training.

Many questions arose, and we had to go to a club, register the cattery, and attend seminars and exhibitions.

Thanks to our pets and their growing number, we decided to move to the suburbs of Kyiv to our own house. Our Maine Coon cattery became a paradise for our beloved cats. Now we had plenty of space for living and a territory for our beloved animals to walk. We built rooms for the cats, adolescent cats, mothers with kittens, and enclosures for safe walks.

That's how my monobreed Maine Coon cattery, Kingcoons, was established. Since 2011, we have been engaged in breeding this wonderful breed.

The Kingcoons Maine Coon cattery aims to produce healthy Maine Coons free from genetic diseases. All breeding cats are tested for genetic diseases. Matings are planned in advance, and Maine Coon pairs are selected based on predictions of type and possible colors.

My Maine Coons live in  the USA.
